Pad Work Test

  • 12 Hook

After an attack is thrown, the pad holder must hit back with something.

Strength & Conditioning Goals

  1. Overhead squat with good form
  2. Side and front leg control to knee height — 30 seconds
  3. Wall side kick hold to hip height — 1 min
  4. Abs must be developed to take punches
  5. Teep / side kick on bag, not touching ground — 1 min each leg

Defence With Padman

  1. Parry straight punches
  2. Block hooks and rib shots
  3. Elbow block plexus and uppercut
  4. Redirect body / head teeps
  5. Block kicks with shin
  6. Block high kicks with arms
  7. Lean back
  8. Slip punches on spot

 

Agility / Defence Work

  1. Slip step skip
  2. Slip step and pivot
  3. Switch slip to side
  4. Roll to side and pivot
  5. Go through change side
